Happy New Year!

Greetings and Salutations, welcome back to my little corner of the internet!

Wow… 2021 is nearly over, 2022 is about to begin. I know that this is a busy time of year, family, games, Church activities, and tonight we’re all going to be counting down with Eugene. This has been a long year. I have many plans for this blog in this next year, (I know, I know, I say this every year, but I promise, I’m actually going to stick to it this year).

Here are some of my ideas for the next year:

  • You Might Be an Odyssey Fan If…
  • A Novacom series (I’m SUPER excited for this one, and planning on bringing in many guests!)
  • Episode/Character reviews
  • An AIO Meme review
  • C.C.C.C.C. (brownie points if you can guess this in the comments:))
  • And the friendship between Jared-Liz-and Mandie
  • and many more!!!

If you can any comments, ideas, or would like to do a guest post/help me out please let me know!!!

Have a Happy New Year!!!

Merry Christmas!

Greetings and Salutations of the season! Welcome back to my little corner of the internet.

I wanted to share something special and original this year for Christmas, but I wasn’t sure what.

So I’ve decided to take a note from ‘Grandma’s Christmas Visit’ (Album #52), and share with you my families’ Christmas traditions!

Christmas is different for every person and family. For some, it might be the biggest part of the year that’s looked forward to for months, for other’s it might be a small day for you to spend with your family/friends, and for others it might just be another day.

However you celebrate it, Christmas is known as the most popular holiday in the world, followed by Hanukkah then New Years.

Music is a big deal in my life, you’ll never see me without my headphones/earbuds either listening to music or Odyssey. And Christmas music holds a very special place in my heart. Right now I’m listening to ‘Little Drummer Boy’ performed by Act of Congress. I have the fondest memories of sitting in the car for hours driving to and from families’ houses listening to Christmas music with my family.

Tonight I’m going to spend with my family on the couch listening to Christmas music. Everything is a bit different this year, traditions have been changed, added, replaced, and there has even been a new addition to my family. This is the baby’s first Christmas, and I’m so grateful to have her. This is my first Christmas with 4 siblings. This is my first Christmas with my best friend.

I’m so grateful for this year, but also grateful that it’s nearly over.

Let me know your Christmas traditions!

Merry Christmas!

Again, this post was inspired by the “You Might Be an AIO Fan If…” From Adventures In Opinions https://aiopinions.home.blog/2020/02/25/you-might-be-an-aio-fan-if/

And “You Might Be a Homeschooler If…” From Blimey Cow. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gwXtt4-wow&list=PL8BQaZLKGoKwchI8Z7hLY6pP3zbaiz0da

I honestly love this blog and channel, so please go check them out. They are both wonderful!!! But don’t take my word for it, why don’t you find out for yourself, by going and checking them out. ☺

Now, onto the post

You might be an Odyssey fan if…

  • Your workout playlist consists of ‘Do or Diet’ and ‘Unfair Game’
  • Your first password for a website was ‘Milk and Eggs’
  • ^Your second was ‘Red Herring’
  • You got confused when reading ‘The Official Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’ because you thought they stole a character name from AIO. (Nope! Arthur Dent first appeared in Opportunity Knocks which was aired December 2, 200, while The Official Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy was written in 1979)
  • You get teary eyed when reading the stories of Joseph, Ester, or Bernard because it reminds you of your favorite, curmudgeons window washer.
  • You got confused when watching the show Psych because ‘…this is literally just The Other Side of the Glass……’ (that was my reaction lol)
  • You know for a fact that Mr. Whittaker doesn’t believe in coincidences but you look over those sketchy episodes where he says ‘That was just a coincidence!!!’
  • You were obsessed with this theory for longer than you’d like to admit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDTC4KzakQ4
  • You have a love-hate-relationship with Mitch depending on what episode your listening to
  • The first user name you tried to get was sparky_the_happy_giraffe or Arem

I hope you enjoyed!! Let me know if you have any that you’d like to be put in the next post!

You might be an Odyssey fan if:

  • If, in the planning of your family vacation, it’s agiven that you’ll find out what station plays Odyssey (and at what time) at your desired destination
  • If you knew how to use FaceBase before FaceBook
  • If your only ‘social media’ is the AIO Club/Odyssey Fan Pages
  • If you have a list of episodes that you know are going to make you cry
  • If the only things you know about baseball/softball comes from Marvin Washington and Ashley Jenkins
  • If you learned how to use the Israelites code
  • ^*see above* and now it’s more natural for you to use that than normal writing
  • You might be an AIO fan if you can tell people and sing the lyrics to Wooton’s Ode to Macaroni (“Odyssey Sings!”) and Bart Rathbone’s song to promote the Electric Palace….
  • If you thought you were smarter than Eugene when you figured out that O.T. Action News stood for Old Testament Action News

Happy Holidays!

Greetings and Salutations! Welcome back to my little corner of the internet.

I’m not sure about you, but I for one am a big fan of Christmas. The music, the emotions, the time set apart to spend with family and friend’s as you remember the birth of Christ. In my family we have many Christmas traditions, such as playing Christmas music as we decorate a tree, me and one of my best friend’s’ read the shadow of the Christmas story in Revelations and make Christmas cards with dragons on them, we watch Christmas veggie tales episodes and sing carols. But one of my favorite traditions is with my friend. We make a countdown and every day we listen to a different winter or Christmas-themed Adventures in Odyssey episodes.

So this year I’ve decided to show our countdown from December 1st until Christmas eve. If you would like to follow along please do and stay active with my posts throughout these next few weeks. (I have the list here, but down below is a PDF copy)

Why? Just Why?-Instant Post

Greetings and salutations, welcome back to my little corner of the internet.

okokok…. Does anyone else find it.. um.. hilarious(and kind of infuriating) how Adventures In Odyssey (/FOTF) sometimes really plays off of the ‘teens are addicted to social media’ stereotype?

Just something I found humerous.

Guess which characters they chose to promote their Instagram account?

Anyway…

That’s my soapbox.

Thank you for reading! Please leave your opinions down in the comments!

Mr. Whittaker: Art Collection/Actors

Greetings and salutations! Welcome back to my little corner of the internet!

Before we begin I would like to point out that (according to the AIO Wikki) Mr. Whittaker is played by 11 different actors (6 actors for different ‘Young/Younger Whit’ voices) , one of which is unknown.

Mr. Whittaker’s artwork changes a bit with every Odyssey generation/actor transition.

I grew up with the ‘Classic’ Mr. Whittaker actors/artwork, Hal Smith and Paul Herlinger.

John Avery Whittaker Dies Again… | Canadian Perspective

In my opinion, Hal Smith is and always will be the best Mr. Whittaker.

Over the years, while the artwork has changed the visual description of Mr. Whittaker has stayed basically the same. With the gray/white hair, glasses, white mustache, collard shirt/sweater/jacket layers he appears to be a homely and comforting character.
